Day 2

I found out I'm dog sitting this week at a house without wireless. O_O Maybe she'll show me how to hook my computer up to the landline.

But, I shall be faithful to the 31 days of quotes! I shall, I shall!

Day 2:

I am breaking out of the mold I had planned for myself this month. I headed over to my bookshelf, grabbed my book of Shakespeare Sonnets, opened to Sonnet 116--which was bookmarked already for me--and am now going to quote to you that lovely sonnet Marianne references in Sense and Sensibility (or rather that Kate Winslet quotes in the movie):

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
                If this be error and upon me prov’d,
                I never writ, nor no man ever lov’d.

No, I don't have this quote written in my Bible margin. :) But if I did, I would put it somewhere next to these verses:

"'When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son. . . . I taught Ephraim to walk, Taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them. I drew them with gentle cords, With bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. . . . My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? . . . My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred." (Hosea 11:1-8)

"'Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you!" (Isaiah 46:3-4)

"[R]ejoice with the wife of your youth." (Proverbs 5:18)

"Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death . . . . Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it." (Song of Solomon 8:6-7)

"Love never fails." (1 Cor. 13:8)

May I add Eph. 1:3-6? That we are called His beloved.
